GNAAS launch ‘Take Flight’ raffle

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is offering the public the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime luxury trip to Barbados by taking part in their annual raffle.

The ‘Take Flight Raffle’ has been launched to raise vital funds for the air ambulance charity, which relies on public donations to survive.

Every £1 ticket bought will support GNAAS’ mission to keep families and communities together by providing life-saving care across the North.

The charity, which has a base in Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees, and Langwathby, Penrith, responded to 2,083 incidents in the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and the Isle of Man, as well as providing support to major incidents further afield.

With a highly skilled doctor, critical care paramedic and experienced pilot on board, they bring the hospital directly to the patient, and can perform major surgery, administer anaesthesia and deliver blood products right at the scene.

It costs approximately £9.3m a year for the charity to remain operational, so to help fund their life-saving missions, they are inviting the public to purchase tickets for their raffle, which gives them the chance to win an incredible holiday and cash prizes just in time for Christmas.

The top prize is a dream getaway to the Caribbean, which includes a two-week stay for up to four guests in a beautiful apartment set along the palm-lined shores of Glitter Bay, Barbados. With £2,000 towards flights, this is an incredible prize for one lucky winner.

There are also two cash prizes of £2,000 and £500 up for grabs. Whether you splash out on something special, cover the Christmas shop or just put it aside for a rainy day these cash prizes could brighten your week.

Joe Garcia MBE, interim chief executive officer at GNAAS said: “Every day our highly skilled critical care team are on standby ready to respond to the region’s most ill and injured patients. By participating in our raffle, you’ll be helping our team continue to provide advanced care to thousands of people every year, while also having the chance to win incredible prizes.”

The raffle will close on 28 November and the winners will be drawn two weeks later on 12 December.
